Dear Brothers and Sisters
I have been in talks with the carrier regarding CBA violations. It is the
carriers position that they have the right to violate out CBA simply
because there is a manpower shortage. The carriers position is, they will
do whatever is neccessary to fill jobs and have our members submit penalty
timecards for these violations. I have spoken with our national officers
and they inform me that this is not a major violation therefore there can
be no action taken other than following the CBA to the letter. I am
recommending that all BLET members be vigilant and follow the contract to
the letter and submit penalty timecards for any and all violations. This is
very disappointing news but we must stand strong and protect one another. I
know we are all here to provide service to the riding public, and to
support our families, but please think about your brothers and sisters and
the long term future of our craft.
Sincerely;
