Mr. Steven H. Santoro
Executive Director
New Jersey Transit
Dear Mr. Santoro:
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and NJ Transit Rail Operations have been actively pursuing an amicable solution to the side letter dated December 29, 1982 entitled 10.4% differential. A tentative agreement was reached and a side letter was drafted. The side letter was submitted to your office on or about January 1, 2017 as of this date the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen has not received a response from your office. I am sure you are aware that this is a direct violation of our collective bargaining agreement. I’m sure you understand and would agree that the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen have been more than cooperative regarding this matter.
This office can no longer wait for a response. Therefore, as General Chairmen I am obligated to advance this contractual violation to the next level. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen is officially notifying the carrier of the Collective bargaining agreement violation.
Thank You,
James P. Brown
