Contract Negotiations Update

03/08/2022 By GCA

Brothers and Sisters,
The BLE&T is in contact with the Nation mediation board.  The BLE&T and NJT are at impasse We have requested to be released from arbitration.  When I received the NMBs response I will send out another update.
I want to remind everyone about saving for a possible strike. The GCA will be asking our National to send out a strike ballot. I would like a 100% in favor of a strike if necessary. We must send a strong and united message to the carrier. Rest assure this GCA is willing fight to the end for a fair and reasonable contact, not the garbage they sold the other unions.
NJT is trying to stall our 10.4% campaign. They know that we will win in arbitration. I gave them an ultimatum either agree on a mediator or I will send it to the First Division in Chicago.
THE GCA WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OUR MEMBERS FOR THE STRONG SUPPORT YOU HAVE SHOWN US.
I WOULD ALSO REMIND YOU THAT UNIONS ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS THE MEMBERS IT REPRESENTS.
STAND STROND AND WE WILL PREVAIL.
Thank you,
Jim Brown
General Chairman
BLE&T/NJT
